Gucci is my 2 year old Rat Terrier.
Gucci was another one of my brilliant ideas. I had been thinking about getting another puppy, and boom there she was.
I had mentioned to Will that I wanted another dog and then a few days later Shannon was looking for a home for a 10 week old rat terrier. She was a cute little thing. She weighed 2 pounds and she was beyond sick. A woman had bought her and then brought her to the vet Shannon works at. When she found out how sick the puppy was she surrendered her right on the spot.
The puppy had very unusual markings, that I later came to find out is called blue merle and she also had two blue eyes. I asked will what he though and he said to go for it, so Shannon brought her to me the next day. This was mine and Will's first 'baby'. She was nameless for about an hour. Gucci had been a name Will and I discussed for when we purchase our first 'big dog', a doberman, but will wanted to call this little pup Gucci, and it stuck.
The name turned out to be perfect for her, because she is BEYOND the point of being a princess, and no, I didn't intentionally name both of my dogs with a "G" name as some like to think. lol Gucci grew into quite the funny little thing, and destroying quite a few house hold objects along the way. Two carpets, some molding, a few blankets, chewing the corner off an martini bar, and the leg of an antique table. She has quite a few close calls that had me wondering where I was going to live with this little monster. I have never owned a terrier before, so I had not known the demons of the breed, needless to say, I know now.
Now at 1, she is a still a nutball, but everybody loves her and everyone questions "what they would do without her" She is a big love and we are thankful to have her. She has the energy of a 3 year old child and she loves to be outside. She chases dirtbikes, long boards, or anyone/anything that moves. She is rather comical and I wouldn't change it for the world. We love this little girl and she loves us just as much.
